A sigh of relief....

Two hours ago I had my first ever mammogram ~ 6 years before I turn 40! The anxiety of the actual scan itself was almost enough to put me over the edge...

BUT...I am pleased to say I honestly don't know WHY women complain about having a mammogram done. I had all sorts of visions in my head - people compare it to childbirth, talk about the excruciating pain...so on and so forth.

I don't know if it was the up-to-date technology, the super nice young mammo technician I had or what - but it hurts worse when the dog steps on my foot than it did to have my boob squished for 5 seconds.

And the best part...two hours later - thanks to our fabu technology of seeing your own medical record online I got a note back from our family doc telling me all is right in boobie land!
HURRAY!

And now, I must go off and start worrying about the next thing that won't ever happen!

  1. Yay! Congrats!

If you don't end up hurting for the next 2 days, like vicodin-hurt, then I say, LUCKY YOU. I DREAD the procedure because of the post-mammo owies.

But I'm beginning to think I'm a pain wuss.

  2. Not only am I happy that it was negative, but also that your doc made a little smiley face on his note. Too funny.

  3. Fantastic, I am so pleased to hear that you got clean results, as you'd certainly been on my mind since your previous post.
