Hormel - Taco Meats Beef Crumbles!

Monday, September 14, 2015

One of the 8 year old's favorite meals is anything that involves Taco Meat.

Tacos -Hard, Soft, Walking...
Taco Salad.
Beefy Nachos.

I don't mind making these things...
But I don't always have the time...

Shredded cheese, tortilla chips and Seasoned Beef Crumbles...

So easy, even the 8 year old can prepare his after school snack, AKA, first dinner!

Do you have any shortcuts for making after school snacking or quick and easy dinners that much quicker and easier?

Snackin with Hormel Foods - Turkey Pepperoni!

Friday, May 22, 2015

You may or may not remember last summer, when I shared one of our favorite on the go snacks?

Remember how great that works out?

We still love that...and it's still a quick and easy go to...
But for our growing, needs a change-up, still filling snack...

We've moved on to -

(Honestly, do you know how many recipes can incorporate pepperoni? The possibilities are endless!)

But my boy - he likes it just plain, straight up, right out of the bag!
(One for each hand, if a car trip is involved!)

When we buzz from one activity to another,
or if the game involves a double header, these pillow packs of pepperoni are an essential part of his uniform!

I love that he can get something that will fill him up enough to tide him over, and we aren't driving through one fast food place after another...at least not EVERY night!

Nutter Butter Acorn Treats! #HormelFamily

Thursday, October 23, 2014

A few years ago, I saw these ADORABLE snacks floating around on Pinterest.
and while I do love me some Pinterest, it's generally one of those things that has me feeling inferior and rolling my eyes...
Not this time...

Nutter Butter Acorns?
I can do that!

It's now a fall tradition that our family loves!
(though you wouldn't HAVE to wait until fall to make these, you can have nuts all year round!)

A bag of Hershey Kisses, Snack Size Nutter Butter Bites, Skippy Peanut Butter, and chocolate chips!

This is one of those super fun, kids in the kitchen projects!
We love those at our house!

We create an assembly line of sorts, and hope that the unwrapped kisses make it to the work space,
and not JUST in the mouths of those helping!
(though quality control is ever so important!)

You will 'unscrew' the nutter butters, because you'll use one half on the top of each 'acorn' ~

To help it stick, because the peanut butter generally stays on one side of the nutter butter when you pull them apart, you can add a little more Skippy Peanut Butter, or melt some chocolate chips and dip the Hershey Kiss in that melted chocolate, to create a chocolate glue to hold it together!

To add a little variety, we also 'glue' a chocolate chip, or a peanut butter chip, (again, with Skippy or melted chocolate chips!!) on the top of the some of the nutter butters, like so!

What say you, people?
Aren't these just soo adorable!?!

A bowl of acorns at your next fall gathering are sure to be a hit!
People love the chocolate and peanut butter combo, and how CUTE are they?

A snack size delight sure to please your party guests!

SKIPPY® Natural Creamy Dark Chocolate #HormelFamily

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

We are big fans of Peanut Butter in our house...
We have a very picky eater, and that picky eater now has a palate expander in her mouth, limiting her very limited choices. Peanut Butter to the rescue!

Peanut Butter is a staple in our house,
especially in the summertime, when we are on the go go go...
SKIPPY® Singles come in so so handy!
Snack Pack Pretzels and Peanut Butter?
Healthy. Satisfying. Easy!

(incidentally, if you are on snack duty for your little ball players & their teams, as we often are...)

And recently, we've been introduced to:

What would one do, with chocolate peanut butter, I wondered?
Keep in mind, I've never ever tried Nutella, even though I hear rave reviews about such a thing!
I'm just not sure how I would use such a product...

What DO you use chocolate spread on?

We tried making peanut butter/chocolate spread sandwiches, because, hello!
You can't go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter...
But...it wasn't a hit in our house, and we knew there had to be something better to do with such a product.

We were right!
So easy the kids can even put this together (after someone slices the apples, that is!)
And if you don't top these with another apple slice leaving them open faced,
wouldn't they make a cute finger food at your child's next birthday party?

YUM!

And while these aren't made with chocolate spread,
they are made with both peanut butter and chocolate (chips!)

Two great, easy, simple recipes (for beginners or those short on time!)
I can't wait to try these with the kids!
