From the Mouths of Babes...

Driving in the truck on Saturday out running a few errands H pipes up from the back seat - "Daddy? Can you get mommy another baby in her tummy?" Just like that - out of the blue - out of NO WHERE! The hubs thinks I put her up to it...but it was totally unprovoked! She does love babies and has been asking a lot of questions about being in my tummy, etc etc ~ I have told her that there will be no more babies coming out of my tummy - but it doesn't stop her from requesting not one, but two baby sisters - one for her, one for Buddy!
Too cute!

On the same note ~ The other night I told H I had a tummy ache - "Where does it hurt?" she asks me..."Here? Does it hurt here? All over here?" she asks while rubbing her belly from side to side..."Yes," I tell her - "that's where it hurts."
"All right then," she states all matter-of-factly. "That means you've got a brand new baby in your tummy!"

oh little girl, how I wish that were true! (but only on the rare occassions that I have actually gotten more than 2-3 hours of sleep the night before!!)

So while I'm at it - from the mouth of our babe - here are a few more...

**Obama comes on the television and H says - "That's the President!" - I'm thinking - all right! This little sponge sure is absorbing all sorts of stuff!! The next day she is watching tv and says "That girl has brown skin - that means she is president!"
So...maybe she doesn't quite grasp it yet - but the fact that she has no biased towards a "brown skinned female" being called president...that right there says something!

**We see a large deer on the way to daycare in the morning, I slow down as it passes in front of us - H asks me - "Is that one of Santa's?" So I tell her, no...It's not a reindeer - it's just a regular deer, you know, like Gary likes?" So she gets all excited and says - "Oh yeah! Maybe he can catch he!"
We aren't hunters and I'm not a big fan so I'm glad to know that to our 3 year old it's still a game of "catch" versus actual hunting!!

**A couple of weeks ago are downstairs in our lower level and I open the blinds ~ snow is piled high outside the window and H looks out there and says - "Oh Dear, looks like we got a lot of snow last night!" To which her brother replies - "Me either!!" as he says after pretty much everything these days!!
Not sure where she got the oh "dear" part - I'm pretty sure that when I say stuff like that it's in the form of swear words...
