Easter Morning...He is Risen (our son that is!)

Sunday, April 11, 2010

Ah, Easter Morning...I remember last year...
Hails almost found out about the Easter Bunny seeing as how she was at the refuse to go to bed barely slept a wink stage..

This year - we had everyone asleep nice and early in the evening...after a busy busy day...
but we also had an early riser...6 am...
I tried to shoo him into the bathroom and down to our room before he saw anything - hoping to keep him in somewhat of a rest mode until 7 or maybe even 8 am...
not-so-much...
I could cry ~ our video camera was dead!! Never fear, I just had to grab the point & shoot & capture what I could...though I missed some of the best...
"oh Mama! isn't it beeeeaaaaauuutifuuuuuuul?" he asked me? When he spotted the trail of eggs coming out of he and his sister's bedrooms leading to the kitchen table?

He ran downstairs to get his sister and let her know all about what was going on upstairs...

What's that? The Dorothy Dress? Why yes, yes she did wear it the day before to Maddy's party, while we colored eggs and then slept in the dress...she then proceeded to wear it for most of Easter - what about it?

So - we don't really do Easter Candy around here - the kids get fun baskets from Grandma Betty & Grandpa Tim that has more than enough goodies in them...

And none of us really loves jelly beans all that much - so we use a few coins in our plastic eggs...but these here, these were all empty - because, while not pointing any fingers at any 93 pound labrador retreivers, we could not possibly put any sort of edible anything in these eggs and then leave them on the floor to be found later...it just would not work.

So...a trail of empty eggs comes out of their bedrooms and down the hall...

And ziggle-zaggles through the kitchen to the dining room table...

Leading up to...
Easter Morning Loot! Coins, a couple of bucks...gardening tools, seeds & gloves, a little soap and few other odds and ends makes for a successful Easter Morning...

There were smiles all around...

Thought Mr. Serious had to get to work on his *homework* - a Curious George writing book - oh how he loves to practice writing his numbers and letters!

My boys on Easter morning - prolly shouldda taken a family photo on Easter huh? oh well - next time!
Happy Easter to you and Yours!
