Off Camera...With Trish & The MN Blog Pantry...

Monday, December 13, 2010

So have you all met my friend Trish?
She does some pretty awesome investigative reporting at a local television station...
And she also writes a pretty awesome blog...

She's also pretty darn fun to party with...all in the name of charity of course...

Well, Trish has a pretty cool job - and she along with the gals from the Minnesota Blog Pantry invited us to come & spend an evening at her work...

I won't tell you about the security process it took just to get inside the front door! HA!

No, seriously!
Anyhoo - Once we were all past security & safely inside the building...
Trish got down to business ~

She shared delightful goodies she had picked up, served on dishes from our small, local retailers... She's pretty awesome like that...

Almond Bark with Apricots? Yes please!

And then she showed us some of the *behind the scenes* business...
Like her fancy purse...

You missed it didn't you?
Look again - I've pointed it out for you this time...

A hidden camera!

Seriously - she has the coolest job EVER!

One that while I find it fascinating, I also find it terrifying, heartbreaking, and a wide range of other emotions...
She covers so many important stories...

We continued on our tour - and saw the infamous green screens...

And took a group shot behind the anchor desk...

The group includes:
Elle from All Things Bright & Beautiful
Trish from Off Camera with Trish
Anna from Motherly Law
Liz Random Thoughts of a Luthern Geek
Carrey over at One Girl Ideas
Liz from The Kitchen Pantry Scientist

{MN Blog Pantry Ladies - if you were here...shoot me the link to your blog - it's late, I'm tired and I can't possibly look up anymore links! :) }

And while we were all given an opportunity to sit behind the anchor desk - I did not -
But Liz did.

I'm of course, kicking myself now that I didn't...
My kids were soo excited about these photos...

"Mom! You were on the NEWS! Where's your picture?"

Note to self - take the damn picture! If you don't like it, you don't have to post it -but your kids will WANT to see it!

GRRRRR!
A few of the gals checked out the area where they do the cooking segments...

Pardon the crappy photos...I was so busy drooling over the gorgeous kitchen I couldn't keep my hand steady...

Seriously...Who is going to build me a beautiful kitchen like this?
Anyone?

Trish had a little Fox9 Trivia for us...and while I was close - I was off by 2 years on my guess...
Making the winner of an Ipod (GASP! YES! An Ipod!!) our new friend from One Girl Ideas!

A few of us stuck around to watch some of the live news broadcast...and even though I was bummed it wasn't Trish doing a spot...it was still really cool to check it out -

And during a commercial break - we all hopped on set to snap a quick photo...
I'm not proud of this picture - but when you only have a few seconds...well...
Where the hell are the hair & make up people?

Anyway - we had a GREAT time - It was fun to have an up close and personal look at how things get into my television set...and an evening with wonderful friends?

Icing on the cake!
