While we don't have a lot of Christmas Tradition in our house (YET!) I am hell bent on making some...and soon...
But one of the two things we DO do, (Christmas cards being #1) is select a real tree each year for our home...While I do think the prelit fake ones might be nice...
I still am not ready to give up the real deal...
And while I'm sure it would be fun to go out to one of those great looking tree farms and select and cut down our very own...

We don't bother with that since there's a nice little tree farmer who sets up show right down the road from our house - We've gone there the last several years...
After finding just the right one -
We head home to adorn it with our love (& ornaments...)
And the little elves just LOVE it!
I'm not really feeling Christmas this year...The cards are almost done -the tree is gorgeous & a few small gifts sit underneath...but something is missing...
And while we will celebrate with family & be thankful for all that we have...
My heart will still be sad for those who are no longer here to celebrate...
I think now is as good a time as any to bring back some of our old traditions...because what makes you feel closer to those you have loved and lost, than doing things that you used to do together...
Midnight Mass anyone?
