Home is Where your Story Begins...

Exactly a month ago, I invited Karen of Su Casa Redesign over to our home ~ I have often thought about how nice it would be to have someone stage our home for us...

Not stage it in such a way that it is all stuffy and magazine perfect so that it can sell as soon as it hits the market per se...But stage it in a way so that it feels warm, and inviting, and comfortable, and US. To LIVE in... NOW!

I took Karen on a tour of our home & she listened to my woes of how I couldn't make the space(s) work...how no matter what I did with our GIANT furniture...nothing seemed to look right...

Karen listened to me, gave me a few pointers...and then set up a date to come back with a business partner of hers...
She gave me a shopping list of items to be on the look out for, that could possibly work in our space - and stayed in touch with me throughout the last month. She gave me feedback on my waffling ideas and encouraged me along the way...

She also told me to trust her...
And I did.

In fact, in one of our email chit chats...I was (again) apologizing for our giant furniture - I told Karen we'd been looking at new stuff but hadn't found 'it' yet...and...truth be told...the timing just isn't right for new furniture for us right now (kids, dog, etc...)

THIS is an excerpt of what she sent me back...

It will be great...we don’t need to worry if it will be different with other furniture, because we will make it perfect using what you have ;)

THAT is one of the many many things that I love about Karen & her business...She didn't insist or even make me feel like I needed new things. She continually encouraged me to embrace what we have...and reassured me that with a few accessories taken from around my home and/or purchased new and her help...She could do this...

and oh how she DID!!

This...is what my room looked like when I went to work this morning...

And this...THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE NOW!

Before...the kids' table piled high with 'stuff' -

And AFTER? (oh my WORD I love love love it!!)

This clock? LOOOVE it! Karen had mentioned that finding a large clock might be fun...

When she said large...I was thinking....large-ish...like, maybe, the middle circle of this clock?
I would NEVER have picked this up...and now I can't imagine NOT having it!

I picked up the rug at a store called Tuesday Morning...
Coffee Table was (cheap) ordered online to match the tv stand we currently have...
The Sofa Table was an awesome find at TJ Maxx Homegoods as was the mirror above it...
Two table lamps I found at Target...

Karen brought the basket for below the sofa table and the clock...the rest? Just lying around the house collecting dust...

And isn't it A. MAZING how it all came together?

If you are feeling stuck in your home, could use a fresh eye in your space or even need some help with which direction to go on the color wheel...I cannot stress this enough...

She's sweet, she's kind, she's genuine...

She knows her stuff...and she is AFFORDABLE!

*** If you head to Karen's website and sign up for her newsletter - you will receive some awesome tips via email by way of a monthly mini mag...and in said newsletter? Valuable coupons!! You know how I love my coupons!! ***

I have put this off for a very long time thinking that home redesign was something that folks in large houses with disposable incomes did...Let me tell you guys...This is not true! I am looking at our home in a whole new light!

I can't wait to head over to the hardware store and grab some paint samples for the window wall and get some wood blinds ordered up and hung...

I am falling in love with our home all over again...

And I owe it all to Karen & her business partner Patty -

THANK YOU.
THANK YOU.
THANK YOU.
A thousand times over.

OK I may be getting in touch with my "shopping side" but I confess, I enjoy strolling around Tuesday Morning. We have one in St. Paul near my house and it's like either walking in a museum or a treasure hunt.
