Valley Fair - Summer Bucket 2011

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Last year I had a pretty kickin' summer bucket list...

Life got in the way, while we were busy making other plans...
And things didn't pan out exactly as one might hope...

But this year...
This year is the year we are back and ready to rock n roll!
(Sorry Rob!)

We I decided to splurge and get season passes to Valley Fair.

Maybe a little bit silly seeing as how I haven't even set foot at Valley Fair in probably 10 years. Maybe 12? But it used to be fun...

I've seen the website. I've seen the commercials. It's not that far.
Life's too short.
So I bought the season passes.
For each of us.

This past weekend was opening weekend...and we had dozens of other things going on...and it rained...
But then Sunday came...and it brought the SUN...

So we decided to see what this place was all about...

We had...so. much. fun!
ACK!
Tea Cups...(Well, not tea but...cups, all the same...)

And lady bug cars...

And race cars...

And semi trucks...

And all of your favorite characters from the Peanuts Gang!

The kids loved the ho down!

And Snoopy...and pretty much everything else!

Now mind you, I have nothing to compare this too - I don't know how pre k friendly this place was before this season ~

I haven't been to Valley Fair since I had kids...but my kids LOVED what they saw...

We didn't even take them on the roller coasters (yes, they have kid sized ones!) or the Ferris Wheel yet...

That's the beauty of the season pass...come on in, stay a lil while and take off - and you can leave not feeling like you wasted your money when you left early!

And the water park?

oh yes...I cannot WAIT for the water park!

We just have to go one more time for our season passes to have paid for themselves.

I honestly hope to go weekly - all. summer. long!

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.

You have me so tempted! It's a little bit more of a hike for us but doable for some daytime distraction.

@ Jen - Honestly...I am VERY excited about this...
And we only covered about 1/4 of the park...AND, there were no lines!
Sure, it sucked to shell out $250 right off the bat for all four of us...but...
knowing that I can go there during the day, the evening, on the weekend...and it's already paid for...EVEN PARKING?
I am confident we are going to get our money out of this pass...
And I cannot WAIT!
Let me know if you decide to get passes and we can coordinate a trip out there & pack a picnic!

We have talked about doing passes, hopefully next summer. The water park alone makes it worth it for our family!

That sounds like so much fun! Hopefully we'll see Snoopy and his gang this summer!
