The Little Things...

Thursday, October 6, 2011

One of the most common questions I get about our girl being a school ager (finally!) is how her little brother is doing at home without her...

Well, I share with you a note he created for her lunch box...

on.
his.
own.

No help from us...

(Seeing me create notes for her lunch, he decided he wanted to make one too!)

Sure, her name is backwards...
But the sentiment is definitely there!

Yes, yes we do put a little note in her lunch each and every day...we try and get creative...different colors of paper, the notes cut in random shapes, occassional stickers...all basic words that she is learning to read.

It might seem silly or time consuming or well, dumb, to some of you...but it's important to me...and so far, it's been very important to her as well.
Part way through her day, she sits down, opens her lunch and is reminded that she is loved.

Who couldn't use a little reminder of just how very much they are loved. It doesn't matter how old you are...a small note reminding you that you are loved?

Yes...
It's the little things that matter most ~

Oh I love that! And oh my, he did a great job! You must be working with him at home, it shows!

Today, I was off of work, and my 3 year old right before naps said, "I miss "Sprout." I felt so bad. But he got a BIG smile when he saw the school bus coming down the street.

Hey- I would love it if I got a little note of encouragement every now and then!
That's really sweet of your son to make that for his sis.
