Branson, Missouri - The Strip

We'd never been to Branson, Missouri - but who hasn't heard of this Vacation Mecca?

Is this a place that old people go?
Would our kids have a good time, on a family vacation, in Branson, Missouri?
As it turns out...
YES, it's a great place for a family vacation...
And NO, it's not just for Gramps and Grams!
Having never been there, we didn't book anything to do -
we figured we'd just go with the flow and see what happened...

and added bonus...it was literally minutes from the Branson Strip!
So when we finally managed to venture down the strip...

It turned out, there was something for everyone!

Outside the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum.
We didn't go in, much to our kids' dismay -
(turns out, many things are not open all day/all night, like I had assumed they would be)
but we will next time!

I loved this old five and dime store located right in Branson - a person could get lost in there for hours, if they aren't claustrophobic!
They had this HUGE selection of paper dolls...
another one of those...
forgot it existed until I saw it things!

Hails picked out a keychain (her thing she collects from our travels) and
Derek got this little wooden airplane, a replica of something his Dad used to play with when he was a kid.
Built just as cheaply as they were back then...
this was not a very good souvenir.
Live and learn!

The Branson Strip also afforded us the chance to see the REAL Dukes of Hazzard cars.
(Are they real? Can anyone be sure?)

For $5 you could sit inside and take pictures...
I think the outside was just as good (and free!), no?

Now that we've been there, done that, we know what we can and should do next time.
Sight seeing from the outside was just fine for us this first time around...
Next time we'll be better prepared for time management, money management, and adventure management.

I wonder if I can get the hubs to try out one of those amazing crazy extreme zip lines?
