O Christmas Tree!

Friday, December 4, 2009

Well, I still can't make the leap to an artificial Christmas Tree - those pre-lit ones look sooo invitiing - but I just can't bring myself to do it yet...I just love Christmas and love the sight and smell of a real Christmas tree...now if only I can figure out a way to PLANT said tree in my yard after we were done!
(One year I bought one of those smaller 'living trees' that was SURE to live til spring so you could plant it and keep it forever and ever...yeah right!)

Anyway - we headed out to our new favorite spot - a little mom and pop shop on a big grocery chain parking lot -
We went last year and were very impressed...

H was dressed the part of Christmas Tree Finder - or something...If only I had been more appropriately dressed in a pettiskirt and crown!

We took turns in our roles as family blog photographer and H snapped this one of Daddy looking for the perfect tree...

Until at last...we found it!

And everyone helped Daddy get it out to the truck...

And this year, little brother got in on the complimentary coloring book action - a delightful little coloring book about the life of a Christmas Tree! YAY!

We got it home and promptly got to work getting it dressed up for the holidays...

(What? You don't decorate your trees in your undies?)

I couldn't be more excited to have my husband's family in town for Christmas this year. We were hoping to have family from both sides join us but that didn't pan out - regardless, I am looking forward to not having to travel in the dead of winter and excited that the kids will be able to wake up and see their stockings hung with care over our fireplace...and maybe, just maybe...if they can continue being good...

Looks like a great time! (I especially like seeing a UND sweatshirt in many photos--is your husband an alum?)
