It's worth a stop - Minnesota's Largest Candy Store

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Last year was the first time I'd ever had the pleasure of setting foot in Minnesota's Largest Candy Store - and I've been itching to get back there...

It's not that it's terribly far...or that I need any candy....

but these...oh, these...
fresh baked, piping hot...

I love the hand made signs and the grandparently type folks behind the counter who take the hot pies right out of the oven and put them on the counter...
Where they are snatched up quicker than they can be put out for sale...

In addition to the fresh pies...
jellies and jams as far as the eye can see...

It was soo very busy this day.
Busier than I've ever seen...
It was hard to wander the store and take it all in - but the short time we were there,
the few things I did have a chance to thumb up and take in...

They bring me immediately to my younger days...

And while 'Buddy's' is new to us (Nesbitt's was not) - Our little Buddy thought it was pretty cool to get a glass bottled soda with his 'name' on it!

They also sold the very same infamous bacon mints...
but knowing how much more daring Matt was than the rest of us way back when we were gifted these mints...we decided to pass...

Besides...riding home with this on my lap (yes, again!) - Who would want to follow that up with anything else?

Perfection...Found in Minnesota's Largest Candy Store...and yes, it really is worth the trip!

~ I wish I did know when they closed for the season - I was tempted to buzz down there for our Thanksgiving pies! No info out there that I've ever found - they told us 'the end of November' when we were there, so...not that that helps...
They don't even seem to have a phone number available!
