SKIPPY® Natural Creamy Dark Chocolate #HormelFamily

We are big fans of Peanut Butter in our house...
We have a very picky eater, and that picky eater now has a palate expander in her mouth, limiting her very limited choices. Peanut Butter to the rescue!

Peanut Butter is a staple in our house,
especially in the summertime, when we are on the go go go...
SKIPPY® Singles come in so so handy!
Snack Pack Pretzels and Peanut Butter?
Healthy. Satisfying. Easy!

(incidentally, if you are on snack duty for your little ball players & their teams, as we often are...)

And recently, we've been introduced to:

What would one do, with chocolate peanut butter, I wondered?
Keep in mind, I've never ever tried Nutella, even though I hear rave reviews about such a thing!
I'm just not sure how I would use such a product...

What DO you use chocolate spread on?

We tried making peanut butter/chocolate spread sandwiches, because, hello!
You can't go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter...
But...it wasn't a hit in our house, and we knew there had to be something better to do with such a product.

We were right!
So easy the kids can even put this together (after someone slices the apples, that is!)
And if you don't top these with another apple slice leaving them open faced,
wouldn't they make a cute finger food at your child's next birthday party?

YUM!

And while these aren't made with chocolate spread,
they are made with both peanut butter and chocolate (chips!)

Two great, easy, simple recipes (for beginners or those short on time!)
I can't wait to try these with the kids!

Stillwaters Resort - Branson, Missouri Family Vacation!

Monday, July 7, 2014

While Branson wasn't on our bucket list of family travel, per se...

Visiting these two lovely ladies is always a priority...

The Hubs with Grandma Betty and Auntie Janis, who live near Branson, MO.

Will our kids have fun in Branson?
Is it a place to go when you are, ::gulp:: older, I wondered,
eyeing the calendar to the big fat birthday coming up for me this fall...

I think it's safe to say, that our kids had a AMAZING time!

Hailey and Derek enjoying the waterslide at Stillwaters Resort in Branson!

I didn't take many pictures in and around the resort, but trust me when I say it was perfect.
Near their gorgeous Oasis Pool area, (one of three pool areas) they had these loungers -
Hello, relaxing vacation for Mom and Dad while the kiddos swim!

The kids enjoyed 'relaxing' in the hammocks though ~

Our accommodations were a nicely done, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo, with an oversized deck that had a nice large table, someone overlooking Table Rock Lake. I say somewhat, because there were lots and lots of trees obstructing the view, but I love trees, so I didn't mind that part...
We had a full kitchen, which is nice for breakfast, lunch, dinner...

Rob and I had a king sized bed, and our kids each had a queen sized bed in another bedroom.
The coach also pulled out, should we have needed it.

Stillwaters Resort had lots of cute little touches...

There were, however, things I didn't enjoy about this resort.
We were responsible for taking out our own trash, and there was NO RECYCLING around!
BOO!
2014, and no recycling?
Water bottles, pop bottles, soda cans, beer cans...
No where to recycle?
I hope that changes sometime soon.

We were also responsible for cleaning and vacuuming our condo before we left.
Now, we aren't piggy, but vacuuming before you check out?
It's not like we didn't pay a good chunk of change for this joint (about $200 a night), so I was annoyed by having to vacuum, but hey...

Payoffs for the fun we had, right?

They had pontoons and boats and jet skis and skis and many other things for rent...
But we stuck to the included in your resort fee amenities this trip.

Family Kayaking to start the day?
Yes Please!

And no, these are technically the all-the-rage stand up paddle boats, but once they saw some older kids doing it...
Well...

Sometimes going to a new place is hard ~
You aren't sure what to expect, and company websites are what the companies want them to be.

I'm thrilled that we had a great experience with this shot in the dark at Stillwaters Resort in Branson, Missouri, and we'll definitely vacation there again!

Cardinals Baseball - Go Team!

Friday, July 4, 2014

This baseball season started out tricky.
Rain, Rain. Rain. RAIN!

But finally, we were able to PLAY BALL!

This year is soo different than years' past...

I still see him as this teeny tiny, 3 year old little home run hitter!

It honest to God feels like last summer to me...and they were just teeny peanuts!

And why won't my videos embed in this blog post instead of having to go to the old ones to view??

This season, we have umpires.
Two boys in blue!
ACK!

And it's one, two, three strikes you're out at this old ballgame!

Those are tough lessons to learn when you are only 7 ~
But hey, not everyone gets a medal, and I get that, and I applaud that!!!

He's learning ~

he's concentrating...

And most of all - he's having fun.

This dogpile right here?
What you can't see - is D's Dad, my husband, underneath the group.
He's the head coach this year, and if this doesn't scream
GREAT JOB COACH!
Then I don't know what does.

These are 7 & 8 year old boys...
At this stage in the game, it needs to be all about having fun!

It's about building friendships.

And finding confidence as you go along your way ~

Some days, you've just got it!

And maybe other days, you don't.

But we don't give up.
We get back out there, and we go down swinging if we have to.

We're finding our groove(s) ~

And we're having fun and along the way we're building memories that will last a lifetime.

What is summer without a baseball season?

Nothing, for this little guy!
